Chromatica opens its 15th anniversary season with Our Journey Home, a fall concert program exploring what home means: comfort, belonging, memory and return. At a challenging time, these familiar ideas feel especially vital, and unusually for Chromatica, all of the music is sung in English.
Founding director David Huff has assembled music that approaches home from many angles. The program includes Stephen Paulus's The Road Home, Andrew Lloyd Webber's Already Home from The Wizard of Oz, Bob Chilcott's Home Sweet Home, Pasek and Paul's From Now On from The Greatest Showman and Going Home, adapted from Dvořák's Ninth Symphony. Other selections include Homeland, Calling My Children Home, Sing Your Way Home, There's Gonna Be a Homecomin' and Welcome Home Child.
Fifteen years of music making
Chromatica began with eight singers and gave its first public concerts in 2012. Under Huff's leadership, the chorus has built a distinctive repertoire spanning the 12th through the 21st centuries, many languages and a wide range of genres. Along the way, Chromatica has developed three works commissioned exclusively for the chorus.

Huff credits Chromatica's audiences and singers for sustaining that growth. The latest of the chorus's three commissions, Christopher Tin's Transfigurations, took Chromatica beyond the Bay Area for the first time. The chorus performed it in Santa Fe, New Mexico in January 2026 and received a standing ovation.
The anniversary season and beyond
The second and final concert series of the 15th anniversary season arrives in April 2027, revisiting pieces that have delighted Chromatica's audiences and singers over the past 15 years. Looking farther ahead, the chorus is developing a new major commission from a nationally recognized composer and planning to perform in London in 2028.
These fall concerts celebrate both the reassurance of home and the community that has sustained Chromatica across 15 years of ambitious music making.
